16 mm Latching Power Switch for 12 V LED Projects

This 16 mm stainless-steel push button provides a maintained on-off action for auxiliary lighting on vehicles, boats or custom electronics. The latching mechanism stays in the selected position until pressed again, making it suitable for always-on accent strips or switched accessories. It fits a standard 5/8 inch panel cutout and includes a metal nut plus a rubber O-ring for sealing.

IP67 Waterproof Rating Decides Outdoor Suitability

The switch carries an IP67 protection level, meaning it withstands heavy rain, splashes and temporary immersion without damage. This rating is the single specification that determines whether the part can be mounted on exposed truck beds, boat trims or motorcycle fairings where moisture is constant. Without IP67 the contacts would corrode and the LED would fail in those environments.

3 A Continuous Rating Holds Steady Under Load

The contacts are rated for 250 V AC/DC at 3 A, so the switch handles sustained current for LED arrays or small motors without overheating. The aluminium zinc alloy body dissipates heat during prolonged operation, while the -20 °C to 55 °C temperature range ensures the mechanism remains reliable through seasonal extremes. The separate 12 V 15 mA LED circuit can be wired to stay lit continuously or only when the main circuit is closed.
