What this cable does

The Jansicotek USB C to USB C cable carries 8K video at 60 Hz, moves data at up to 40 Gbps and delivers up to 240 W of power. It is built for users who need a single cord to drive a high-resolution display, transfer large files quickly and charge a laptop or tablet at maximum speed.

Who it suits and who it does not

Creators and professionals using Thunderbolt 3 or 4 docks, MacBook Pro, iPad Pro or recent Windows laptops will get the full 40 Gbps throughput and 240 W charging. Buyers whose devices only support USB 3.2 or earlier will see lower data rates and less power, so the extra headroom goes unused.

Installation and common issues

Plug the male-to-male connectors into the host and the display or dock; no driver is required. The cable is 5 ft long, so check that the reach fits your desk layout. Remember that dual 4 K monitors need two separate cables, and actual transfer speed depends on the host controller and storage device.

Questions about this item

Does this cable need a USB-C power adapter that can supply 48V at 5A to reach its 240W charging rating?

Yes, the cable supports up to 240W (48V/5A) but only delivers that power when paired with a compatible charger and a device that accepts the same voltage and current.

Will the cable work with my Thunderbolt 3 laptop and older USB 3.2 peripherals?

It is backwards compatible with Thunderbolt 3, USB 3.2, USB 3.1 and USB 3.0, so it will carry data and video to those older ports at their native speeds.

How can I confirm the cable is running at its full 40Gbps data rate after I connect my SSD?

Run a large-file transfer and check the read and write speeds; the cable can sustain up to 2.8GB/s read and 2.1GB/s write when both host and drive support 40Gbps.
