What this cable connects

This pack contains three USB 3.0 Type A male-to-male cables, each 3.3 feet long. They link a USB 3.0 peripheral such as a hard-drive enclosure, DVD player or laptop cooler directly to a computer or hub with a Type A port. Practical limits of USB 3.0 Type A

The cables are rated for SuperSpeed USB 3.0 at up to 5 Gbps, which is ten times the throughput of USB 2.0. They remain backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports, though speed will fall to the older standard’s rate. The 3.3-foot length suits desktop setups; longer runs may need an active repeater to maintain full 5 Gbps performance.

Check your ports before ordering

Verify that both the host and the peripheral present a USB Type A receptacle, because these plugs will not fit Type B, Micro, Mini or Type C sockets. Confirm the peripheral expects a standard host-to-device link rather than a proprietary or host-to-host protocol, as some equipment requires a special cable.
