Portable CD Boombox with Bluetooth

The Jensen CD555 is a portable audio system that plays standard CDs and CD-R/RW discs from a top-loading mechanism. It adds Bluetooth streaming with A2DP and AVRCP support alongside an analogue FM stereo receiver. A blue LED track display and bass-boost circuit round out the feature set.

Buyers wanting cordless CD playback

This unit suits anyone who wants to listen to physical discs or stream from a phone without a permanent mains connection, thanks to its built-in carrying handle and battery option. It will not satisfy buyers who need more storage capacity, digital audio outputs, or a DAB+ tuner.

Top-loading CD-R/RW mechanism

The single specification that decides fit is the top-loading drive that reads both CD-R and CD-RW media. If your music library is on recordable discs, this mechanism handles them; if you only stream, a simpler speaker may suffice.

Questions about this item

Will the CD mechanism or laser pickup need cleaning or replacement after extended use of CD-R/RW discs?

The top-loading CD player reads CD-R and CD-RW discs; occasional lens cleaning with a standard CD cleaner disc helps maintain reliable playback over time.

What limits continuous playback when running on battery power?

Battery life determines how long the boombox runs untethered; recharge or replace cells when volume drops or the FM receiver drifts.

How loud does the cooling fan get during all-day Bluetooth streaming?

There is no cooling fan; the unit relies on passive ventilation so it stays silent during extended Bluetooth or FM use.
