Vertical Battery Grip for Canon EOS RP
This vertical battery grip is built for the Canon EOS RP mirrorless camera. It accepts one or two LP-E17 lithium-ion batteries to extend shooting time during long sessions. The grip adds a vertical shutter release and duplicate controls for comfortable portrait orientation shooting. Weighing 170 grams without batteries, it attaches securely to the camera body.
LP-E17 Battery Compatibility Only
The grip operates exclusively with Canon LP-E17 rechargeable lithium-ion batteries; AA cells are not supported. One or two batteries can be installed simultaneously, and the unit automatically switches to the second cell when the first is depleted without interrupting operation. Batteries are not included with the grip and must be sourced separately.
1/4-Inch Tripod Socket Included
A standard 1/4-inch threaded hole on the base allows the grip to be mounted directly onto a tripod quick-release plate. The grip body measures 133 by 99.7 by 70.8 millimetres and is constructed from black ABS plastic with a non-slip rubberised surface. It is not compatible with cameras other than the EOS RP.

Questions about this item
Should I use one LP-E17 or two in this grip?
The grip accepts one or two LP-E17 batteries; using two lets the grip switch automatically when the first is depleted, effectively doubling the available shooting time without interrupting operation.
What does the 170-gram weight mean when the grip is mounted on my EOS RP?
The grip weighs 170 grams without batteries; each LP-E17 you insert adds its own mass, so the total added weight depends on whether you load one or two cells.
Does the 1/4-inch tripod thread on the bottom limit the quick-release plates I can use?
The 1/4-inch screw hole follows the standard camera tripod thread, so any plate or head with a matching 1/4-inch stud will attach securely.
