Automatic lens protection for Ricoh GR III

This cap fits the Ricoh GR III and opens when the lens extends, then closes when it retracts. It stays on the camera at all times, so the cover cannot be misplaced. The mechanism removes the step of taking a cap off before every shot.

No vignetting and filter compatibility

The cap adds no visible shadowing to images at any focal length. It works alongside the JJC UV filter sold separately, allowing both pieces to sit on the lens together. The front ring must be removed before the cap is installed.

ABS construction, pocket-scale profile

The body is moulded from ABS plastic and weighs 0.3 ounces. Its footprint measures 2.2 by 0.5 inches, adding minimal bulk to the GR III's compact form. Buyers who want a tethered or magnetic cap will need a different design.

Questions about this item

Does the cap fit straight onto the GR III or do I need an adapter?

The cap mounts directly on the Ricoh GR III after the original front ring is removed; no adapter is required.

Will the automatic mechanism slow down the lens when I power the camera on?

The cap opens and closes in sync with the lens extending and retracting, so operation speed is unaffected.

Can I keep a filter on the lens while using this cap?

Yes, the design allows simultaneous use with the JJC UV filter sold separately.
