Diagonal Cutting Plier 5 1/8 in
The Jonard DIAGB5 is a diagonal cutting plier with an overall length of 5 1/8 in. It is built for technicians and assemblers who need a compact hand tool for snipping wire and small components. The induction-hardened cutting edge is designed to stay sharp through repeated use. A plastic grip covers the handles for basic comfort during operation.
Manual jaw opening with 1/2 in maximum
The plier uses a manual jaw mechanism that opens to a maximum of 1/2 in. Jaw length and width are both 3/4 in and 1/2 in respectively, with a flush cut profile. There is no spring-assist or ratchet action, so each cut requires deliberate hand pressure. The tool is not insulated, not ESD-safe and not rated for voltage, so it must not be used on live circuits.
Steel blade handles copper and soft wire
The steel blade with induction-hardened edge comfortably cuts copper leads, tie-wraps and similar soft materials up to the 1/2 in jaw capacity. Hardened steel wire, thick cable or large-diameter stock will exceed the practical limit of the 5 1/8 in frame. The plier is not tether-ready and carries California Proposition 65 warnings for cancer and reproductive harm.

Questions about this item
Should I pick the 5 1/8 in model or a different length for general wire cutting?
The 5 1/8 in overall length gives a compact reach with a 1/2 in maximum jaw opening and 3/4 in cutter length, suitable for most bench and panel work.
What does the induction hardened cutting edge deliver when I use the pliers daily?
Induction hardening keeps the cutting edge sharp longer on steel wire and component leads, reducing the need for frequent resharpening during repeated use.
How does the manual jaw opening affect the cutting force I can apply?
Manual operation means cutting force depends entirely on hand strength; the 3/4 in jaw length provides leverage for clean cuts on copper and soft steel up to the rated opening.
