Jonard SSK-85 Star Key for Fastener Work

The Jonard SSK-85 is a plastic star key featuring a flower-shaped 7-point profile for engaging compatible fasteners. It belongs to the power and pneumatic accessories range and is supplied new for professional or DIY use. The tool addresses the need to drive or remove specific star-pattern heads without metal-on-metal contact. Buyers who need a metal driver or a different point count cannot use this item.

Simple Hand Installation With Chemical Notice

The key fits directly onto the fastener by hand or with a suitable driver, requiring no special tools or calibration. A Proposition 65 warning applies because the product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer and reproductive harm. Users should handle with gloves and wash hands after use. The plastic construction avoids marring surfaces but may fracture under excessive torque.

Verify Fastener Pattern and Material Compatibility

Confirm the fastener head matches a 7-point flower star profile before ordering, as other star patterns will not engage. Ensure the application tolerates a plastic driver, since high-torque or seized fasteners can damage the key. No lubricant or adapter is included, so assess whether the workspace allows direct access to the fastener head.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the Jonard SSK-85 Star Key engages correctly with the 7-point flower fastener?

After setup, insert the tool into the fastener and apply torque; the 7-point star profile should seat fully without cam-out or rounding, indicating proper engagement.

What is included with the Jonard SSK-85 and what must be sourced separately?

The package contains the SSK-85 Star Key only; a compatible power or pneumatic driver and any required sockets or adapters are sold separately.

Which version should I choose between the LB 8-point star and LS 5-point star options?

Select the LB 8-point star for 8-point fasteners or the LS 5-point star for 5-point fasteners; the SSK-85 itself is the 7-point flower configuration.
