Avalon Series Boom Pole

The K-Tek Avalon Series KE-110 is a five-section aluminum boom pole built for ENG, EFT and DV camera operators who need reliable overhead audio capture. It collapses to 2.7 inches and extends to 9.2 inches for compact transport and flexible positioning on set.

Fixed-Length Section Design

The pole uses fixed-length sections rather than a continuously adjustable tube, so length changes happen in discrete steps across the five segments. This construction prioritises structural rigidity over infinite positioning, which reduces flex during long takes but limits fine height adjustments.

Upgrade from Basic Handheld Poles

Operators moving up from short handheld poles or fixed-length sticks gain the reach needed for interview and narrative work without the cost of premium carbon-fibre models. The jump is worthwhile when a lightweight, collapsible aluminium pole satisfies the production budget and durability requirements.

Questions about this item

How do I choose among the available versions or capacities of the K-Tek Avalon Series KE-110 boom pole?

The KE-110 is a single 5-section aluminum pole that extends from 2.7 to 9.2 feet, so there are no alternate versions or capacities to select.

What does the 2.7 to 9.2 foot range mean when the pole is used on a real shoot?

It means the pole collapses to 2.7 feet for transport and extends to 9.2 feet, giving you a working reach of just over nine feet when fully deployed.

What interface or standard does the KE-110 use, and what does that cap in practice?

The pole has no built-in cable; it uses a standard 3/8-inch thread at the top to mount any compatible microphone or shock mount, limiting you only by the accessory you choose.
