Roman Empire Strategy Game

Praetorians is a real-time strategy game set during the rise of the Roman Empire. Players command Gauls, Egyptians or Roman Legions across campaigns in Egypt, Gaul and Italy. The title focuses on tactical unit combinations and formation management rather than base building. A Steam account is required for activation and play.

Suits classic RTS fans; not for region-locked buyers

This download suits players who enjoy historical tactics and older titles that run on modest hardware. The Steam DRM and publisher block list prevent activation in Afghanistan, Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, Venezuela, Yemen, Zimbabwe and several other nations. Buyers in those regions cannot redeem the code.

Questions about this item

Does the Steam activation code for model 48159 ever expire or require renewal?

The Steam code is a one-time activation that permanently attaches Praetorians to your Steam account with no further renewal needed.

What is the first performance bottleneck when running Praetorians on the minimum 256 MB RAM specification?

With only 256 MB RAM the system will hit memory limits first, causing slowdowns during large battles with many units on screen.

How much heat or fan noise does Praetorians generate on a laptop during an all-day session?

The game uses DirectX 7 graphics and a 1 GHz processor target, so it places very light load on modern laptops and produces minimal extra heat or fan noise.
