Kanguru FlashBlu30 32GB USB drive

The Kanguru FlashBlu30 is a 32GB USB 3.0 flash drive built in a compact blue aluminium housing. It suits anyone who needs portable storage for documents, photos or media files and wants a physical write-protect switch for added data safety. The drive works with any computer that has a standard USB port.

Built-in write-protect switch

A hardware slider on the drive lets you lock the storage in read-only mode so files cannot be overwritten or infected by malware when the drive is plugged into an untrusted system. Slide the switch back to unlock normal read and write access without any software installation.

USB 3.0 interface limits

The drive uses the USB 3.0 standard, so transfer speed depends on the host port and controller; a USB 2.0 port will fall back to its lower maximum throughput. Real-world performance also varies with file sizes and the host system workload.

Questions about this item

Does the 32 GB FlashBlu30 drive have any parts that wear out and need replacement later?

The solid-state memory has no moving parts to service; the only physical items that could wear are the USB 3.0 connector and the write-protect switch, which are rated for thousands of cycles.

What limit appears first when the drive runs at full USB 3.0 speed for a long session?

Sustained transfers are limited by the flash memory's write throughput and the thermal capacity of the small aluminum body, so speeds drop after the internal cache fills.

How much heat or noise does the ALK-FB30-32G produce when plugged in all day?

The drive is silent with no fan; the aluminum casing gets slightly warm during heavy reads or writes but stays within normal operating temperature for USB flash devices.
