Two-battery kit for Canon camcorders

This kit supplies two 7.4 V lithium-ion batteries and a matching wall charger for Canon XA and XF series camcorders. It replaces the original BP-820 and BP-828 packs and the CG-800 charger in one package.

15.2 Wh per battery with foldable-plug charger

Each battery delivers 2050 mAh at 7.4 V for extended shooting sessions. The charger accepts 100 to 240 V input and outputs 8.4 V at 600 mA, with a red LED while charging and green when full.

AC power only, no on-camera charging

The wall unit plugs directly into mains power via its foldable flat pins, so a socket is required. It frees the camcorder’s own charging port and leaves the battery compartment available for hot-swapping between the two packs.

Questions about this item

Will the 7.4 V 2050 mAh BP-820 cells run in my Canon XA30 alongside the original BP-828?

Yes, both the BP-820 and higher-capacity BP-828 are listed as compatible, so the Kastar 2050 mAh packs work interchangeably in the XA30.

How do I confirm the CG-800 charger is charging the batteries correctly?

The charger shows a red LED while charging and switches to green when the batteries reach full charge or are on standby.

Does the kit include everything needed to power a Canon XF400, or must I buy extra cables?

The box contains one foldable-plug AC wall charger (100–240 V input, 8.4 V 600 mA output) and two 15.2 Wh lithium-ion batteries; no extra cables are required.
