Four-battery kit with wall charger

This Kastar bundle supplies four lithium-ion batteries rated at 7.2V and 1800mAh each, plus an AC wall charger with a foldable flat plug. The pack replaces Sony NP-FF70, NP-FF71 and NP-FF71S cells and fits the listed Handycam models. It is aimed at owners of those camcorders who want spare power for long shoots or travel.

Replaces ageing original cells

The kit directly substitutes depleted or lost Sony NP-FF50, NP-FF51, NP-FF51S, NP-FF70, NP-FF71 and NP-FF71S batteries. The jump is worth it when your current packs no longer hold a full charge or when you need multiple spares for events that exceed a single battery’s runtime. The charger accepts 100-240V input and delivers 8.4V at 600mA.

Fits Handycam bodies, frees outlet space

Each battery measures 3 by 2 by 3 inches and slides into the compatible DCR-HC, DCR-IP and DCR-PC camcorders without modification. The charger’s foldable flat plug reduces bulk in a gear bag and leaves adjacent wall sockets accessible. LED indicators show red while charging and green when the cells reach full capacity.

Questions about this item

Will the charger’s foldable flat plug fit a standard UK wall socket without an adapter?

The charger uses a foldable flat pin designed for North American sockets; a UK three-pin adapter is required.

How do I correctly seat the four NP-FF70 batteries in the charger so the red LED shows charging?

Align each battery’s contacts with the charger slots and press down until the red LED illuminates; a green LED means the 1800 mAh cell is full.

When should I replace the 13 Wh Li-Ion packs in my Sony DCR-PC108 kit?

Replace the batteries when run-time drops noticeably below the original 1800 mAh capacity or they no longer hold a full charge after the green LED appears.
