Four lithium-ion batteries and a dual USB charger with LCD status for Sony Handycam camcorders
This Kastar set supplies four 7.4 V 1200 mAh lithium-ion batteries and a dual-slot USB charger with an LCD status screen. Each cell stores 8.88 Wh and fits the NP-FP50 and NP-FP51 form factor used across a long list of Handycam models. The charger powers both slots from a single 5 V 2–3 A source via Micro-USB or USB-C. A Micro-USB cable is included in the box.
Videographers carrying one of the listed DCR, HDR or DVD Handycams gain a lightweight power reserve that recharges from any USB port or wall adapter. The bundle does not suit owners of Sony InfoLITHIUM L, M or H series packs, nor cameras that require a higher-voltage block battery. Builders needing a V-mount or Gold-mount plate should choose a different system.
The battery voltage is 7.4 V and the capacity is 1200 mAh; the charger delivers 8.4 V at 800 mA per slot. If the camcorder’s original pack matches those electrical ratings and the NP-FP50/51 physical profile, the kit will operate correctly.

The charger runs from a 5 V 2-3 A USB supply, delivering 8.4 V at 800 mA per slot, so total draw stays around 15 W and heat is minimal.
Any 5 V USB port or adapter that can supply 2-3 A (15 W) via Micro-USB or Type-C will power the dual charger.
Yes, the batteries replace the original NP-FP50/FP51 cells used in the DCR-HC85 and the charger supports the same voltage and capacity.
