What you get

This pack contains two Kastar BL-5B lithium-ion batteries and one smart LCD charger with a foldable flat plug. Each cell delivers 3.7 volts and 890 milliampere-hours for a total of 4.26 watt-hours. The set replaces the original BL-5B packs used in a long list of Nokia, BLU, SVP, Vivitar and other compact cameras and phones. It suits owners who need a ready spare without hunting for discontinued OEM cells.

Charging behaviour

The charger accepts 100 to 240 volts AC at 50 or 60 hertz and outputs 4.2 volts at 600 milliamps. A red LED shows active charging while a green LED signals standby or full charge. The foldable flat pins let the unit lie flush against a wall socket or power strip. No fan or active cooling is present so operation stays silent. Power draw in normal use is limited to the charger’s rated output.

Deciding factor

Compatibility is limited to devices that take a BL-5B or one of the listed equivalent part numbers such as Topblue TB-521, Vivitar CEL10028 or Nokia BL-5B. If your camera or phone uses a different battery form factor this pack will not fit. Buyers who need a higher capacity cell or a different voltage should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Kastar BL-5B batteries and charger, and what step do people often miss?

Insert each 3.7V 890mAh Li-Ion battery into the charger, plug the foldable flat pin into a 100–240V AC outlet, and wait for the green LED; the step often missed is ensuring the battery contacts align before closing the charger door.

What maintenance or replacement will the Kastar BL-5B pack need over time?

The two 4.26 Wh Li-Ion cells will gradually hold less charge; expect to replace both batteries after roughly 300–500 full cycles when runtime drops below half of the original 890mAh capacity.

What limit appears first during sustained charging of the Kastar BL-5B batteries?

The charger outputs 4.2V at 600mA, so the current limit is reached first; each 890mAh battery takes about 1.5 hours to reach the green LED standby state.
