Kastar BL-5B Smart LCD Charger

The Kastar BL-5B is a compact AC wall charger designed for Li-Ion BL-5B batteries used in select digital cameras, mini keyboards, audio players and car-kit devices. It suits owners of listed SVP, Vivitar, Rollei, Minox, Tecsun, Avantree and Yashica models who need a replacement or spare mains charger. The foldable flat plug makes it easy to pack for travel or daily carry.

Output: DC 4.2V 600mA

The charger delivers a fixed DC 4.2V at 600mA from a 100-240V 50-60Hz input, matching the factory specification for BL-5B cells. A red LED shows charging in progress; a green LED signals standby or full charge. No battery is included in the pack.

Foldable flat plug for universal mains

The foldable flat-pin design plugs directly into AC sockets without a separate cable, freeing bench space and removing a cable that could snag. It works on 100-240V supplies worldwide, so the same unit serves home and overseas use. Buyers needing to charge multiple batteries simultaneously or requiring a USB output should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

What does the 4.2 V 600 mA output mean when the charger is plugged in?

It supplies a steady 4.2 volts at up to 600 milliamps to the BL-5B cell, so the battery charges at that rate until the green light shows it is full.

The input says 100–240 V 50–60 Hz — what does that cap in practice?

It lets the unit run on any mains supply from 100 to 240 volts at 50 or 60 hertz without a separate voltage selector.

How much space does the 3 by 2 by 1 inch body with foldable plug need in a bag?

The charger measures roughly 3 by 2 by 1 inches and the flat pins fold flush, so it slips into a small pocket or cable pouch.
