Compact V-Mount Power

The Kastar BP-150W is a 150Wh lithium-ion battery built around a standard V-Mount plate. It delivers 14.8V at 10.2Ah and weighs 26.4 Oz in a 102 x 72 x 75.5 mm body. An integrated OLED panel shows voltage, remaining capacity and USB output status at a glance.

Cinema rigs needing one versatile source

Camera operators running RED DSMC2, SCARLET-W or Blackmagic URSA models can power the body and accessories from a single block. The unit is not for productions that require hot-swap redundancy or capacities above 150Wh, nor for rigs that lack a V-Mount receiver.

Build integration

Four output paths — D-Tap, BP, USB-C with 5/9/12/15/20V profiles and USB-A — feed monitors, follow-focus motors and wireless links without extra adapters. Recharging accepts Micro-USB, USB-C up to 20V 2.2A, D-Tap or BP input at 16.8V 10A maximum, though only one source works at a time. Intelligent protection guards against over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current and over-temperature.

Questions about this item

Which RED camera bodies accept this V-Mount battery directly?

The battery is compatible with RED DSMC2 DRAGON-X, SCARLET-W, CF WEAPON BRAIN, RED RANGER models and the V-RAPTOR ST 8K VV DSMC3.

Can I charge the battery while it powers accessories through the D-Tap port?

Only one charging input can be active at a time, so you cannot charge via D-Tap while simultaneously drawing power from the same D-Tap output.

What does the OLED screen show to confirm the battery is healthy?

The built-in OLED displays real-time voltage, remaining capacity and USB output voltage so you can verify normal operation at a glance.
