V-Mount Battery Kit for RED DSMC2 Cameras

This Kastar package pairs a BP-150W V-Mount battery with a compact fast charger built for RED DSMC2 DRAGON-X and SCARLET-W bodies. The set also covers a wide range of Blackmagic URSA, BMPCC and Canon C700 cinema cameras. It is aimed at camera operators who need reliable block power on professional rigs.

Check V-Mount Compatibility and Power Draw

Verify that your camera accepts a standard V-Mount plate and can draw from a 150 Wh Li-Ion source. The charger requires AC 110-240 V at 50 or 60 Hz and delivers 16.8 V at 3.0 A DC. Confirm your accessory cables use the D-Tap output and that your rig has clearance for the 8 by 4 by 3 inch unit.

Sustained Output with MCU Protection

The built-in MCU monitors voltage and temperature, automatically halting charge on over-voltage, short-circuit or overheat conditions. Green and red LEDs show standby and charging states, preventing overcharge and deep discharge during long sessions. Constant-current control maintains steady delivery for extended takes rather than brief bursts.

Questions about this item

Does the pack include a V-Mount battery or only the charger?

The pack contains one charger and one battery; no separate V-Mount cell is required.

Which Kastar model should I choose for a RED DSMC2 DRAGON-X — BP-150W or BP-Y150W?

BP-150W is the model printed on the unit; BP-Y150W appears only in the supplier title and refers to the same kit.

What does the 16.8 V 3.0 A charger output mean for on-set recharge time?

The charger delivers 16.8 V at 3.0 A, so a compatible 150 Wh V-Mount battery reaches full charge in roughly one hour.
