Two-pack BP-511 lithium-ion batteries

This pack contains two Kastar BP-511 replacement batteries rated at 7.4 V and 2600 mAh. They use lithium-ion chemistry and store 19.24 Wh each. Built-in protection circuits guard against over-charge, over-discharge, over-voltage, over-current and over-heating. The cells meet UL1642 and CE safety standards.

For owners of listed Canon cameras and camcorders

The batteries replace Canon BP-508, BP-511, BP-511A, BP-512, BP-512A, BP-514, BP-522 and BP-535 packs and charge in CB-5L or CG-580 chargers. They fit the EOS 10D, 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D, 5D, 300D, D30, D60, Kiss and Kiss Digital bodies plus many PowerShot, Optura, ZR and DM-MV series models. Buyers who need a different voltage or a non-Canon form factor should look elsewhere.

7.4 V 2600 mAh lithium-ion cell

The single specification that decides compatibility is the 7.4 V 2600 mAh lithium-ion cell in the BP-511 form factor. If your camera or charger requires this exact voltage, capacity and physical shape the pack will work; otherwise it will not.

Questions about this item

What comes in the pack and do I need a separate charger?

The pack contains two BP-511 lithium-ion batteries. A charger is not included; the batteries work with Canon CB-5L or CG-580 chargers you may already own.

Which capacity should I choose for my Canon EOS 5D?

This 2600 mAh 7.4 V pack is the only capacity offered for the BP-511 form factor and fits the EOS 5D and other listed models.

What does the 19.24 Wh rating mean for actual shooting time?

19.24 Wh at 7.4 V equals 2600 mAh, giving longer run time per charge than lower-capacity BP-511 cells in compatible Canon cameras.
