Kastar BP-511A 2600 mAh Li-Ion battery pack

This set includes a 7.4 V 2600 mAh lithium-ion cell and an LTD2 USB dual charger. It replaces Canon BP-511 and BP-511A packs for a wide range of EOS, PowerShot, Optura and ZR cameras. The charger powers two batteries at once and shows capacity on an LED display. A Micro-USB cable is supplied for 5 V input.

Suits owners of listed Canon models needing

Photographers using unlisted cameras or requiring higher capacity than 2600 mAh should look elsewhere. The charger only accepts BP-series plates, so other battery formats are not supported. Video users wanting continuous AC operation need a dedicated mains adapter instead.

2600 mAh capacity at 7.4 V

The cell stores 19.24 Wh, giving a clear measure of runtime for compatible bodies. The LTD2 charger delivers 8.4 V at 800 mA per slot from a 5 V 2–3 A USB source. Both Micro-USB and Type-C inputs are available for flexible charging.

Questions about this item

Will the LTD2 charger power up from the USB-C port on my laptop?

The charger accepts 5 V at 2–3 A through its Micro-USB or Type-C input, so a laptop port that can supply at least 2 A will run it.

Can I charge an original Canon BP-511A alongside this Kastar BP-511A in the dual bays?

Yes, the LTD2 supports BP-511, BP-511A, BP-512, BP-512A, BP-514, BP-522 and BP-535 cells, so an original Canon pack fits the second slot.

How do I confirm the 2600 mAh cell is charging correctly on the LCD?

The intelligent display shows charging status and battery capacity; watch the indicator rise toward full while the output reads 8.4 V at 800 mA.
