Replacement battery pack for Canon VIXIA camcorders

The Kastar BP-718 bundle supplies four lithium-ion batteries and a dual-slot LTD2 USB charger. Each cell delivers 3.7 volts and 1900 milliampere-hours, matching the original BP-709, BP-718 and BP-727 specifications. The kit targets owners of compatible VIXIA and LEGRIA models who need extra runtime for long shoots.

Dual charger with Micro-USB and Type-C inputs

The included LTD2 unit charges two batteries simultaneously and shows status plus capacity on an integrated LCD panel. A Micro-USB cable is supplied; the charger accepts 5-volt input at up to 3 amps and outputs 8.4 volts at 800 milliamps per slot. Interchangeable plates allow future use with other battery types.

Simple USB-powered setup with no AC adapter needed

Connect the charger to any 5-volt source such as a power bank, laptop or wall adapter using Micro-USB or Type-C. Insert batteries into the clearly labelled slots; the LCD confirms charging progress. Users without a suitable 5-volt supply must provide one separately, and the fixed 800-milliamp rate means full charges take longer than high-current dedicated docks.

Questions about this item

When will the four 1900mAh BP-718 lithium-ion packs need replacing?

Each pack holds 7.1 Wh at 3.7 V; after several hundred full cycles capacity drops below 80 % and run-time shortens noticeably.

What limits continuous recording first — the 8.4 V 800 mA dual charger or the batteries?

The charger delivers 800 mA per slot, so two packs charge together in roughly 2.5 hours while a single pack takes the same current alone.

How much heat or noise does the LTD2 USB charger produce during all-day use?

The 15 W input (5 V 2–3 A) stays cool with passive ventilation; no fan means silent operation even when both bays run at 800 mA.
