Four-pack replacement batteries

This set contains four Kastar BP-718 lithium-ion cells rated at 3.7V and 1900mAh each. They serve as direct replacements for Canon BP-709, BP-718 and BP-727 batteries across a wide range of VIXIA and LEGRIA camcorders.

Built-in safety circuits

Every cell includes over-charge, over-discharge, over-voltage, over-current and over-heating protection. The packs meet UL1642 and CE safety standards for reliable operation during extended recording sessions.

Charger compatibility

The batteries work with Canon CG-700 chargers so existing charging equipment can be reused. They are not suited for cameras that require a different form factor or voltage.

Questions about this item

How do I install the BP-718 battery and what step do people often miss?

Slide the battery into the camcorder compartment until the latch clicks, then charge fully on a CG-700 charger before first use — skipping the initial full charge is the common mistake.

What maintenance or replacement will the BP-718 pack need over time?

Lithium-ion cells degrade after hundreds of cycles; replace any pack that no longer holds a 1900 mAh charge or shows swelling, typically after 2–3 years of regular use.

What limit appears first during sustained recording with the BP-718?

The 7.1 Wh capacity sets runtime; continuous high-bitrate recording drains a single pack in roughly one hour, so swap batteries before the low-voltage protection cuts power.
