What you get

This pack contains one AC wall charger and two lithium-ion BP-727 batteries. It is intended for owners of Canon VIXIA and LEGRIA camcorders who need spare power for extended shooting sessions.

Deciding specification

Each battery delivers 3.7 volts and 3200 milliampere-hours, which equals 11.84 watt-hours. That capacity matches the original Canon BP-727 rating and determines whether the runtime meets your recording needs.

Installation and common issues

The charger plugs directly into a 100 to 240 volt wall outlet and uses a foldable flat pin for compact storage. Insert a battery; a red LED shows charging and green shows full charge. The only frequent problem is forgetting to seat the battery contacts fully, which leaves the light on red indefinitely.

Questions about this item

How long will the 3200 mAh capacity actually run my VIXIA HF R30?

The 3200 mAh lithium-ion cells deliver 11.84 Wh each, giving typical recording times comparable to the original Canon BP-727 in camcorders such as the HF R30, R32, R36, R37 and R38.

What does the charger's 100-240 V input and 4.2 V 600 mA output mean for daily use?

The wall charger accepts any mains voltage from 100 to 240 V at 50-60 Hz and charges each battery at 4.2 V and 600 mA, with a red LED while charging and green when full.

Will the foldable flat plug and 3-by-2-by-2 inch size fit my travel bag and camera battery compartment?

The charger measures roughly 3 by 2 by 2 inches with a foldable flat plug for compact storage, and the batteries match the Canon BP-727 form factor for direct fit in compatible VIXIA and LEGRIA models.
