Compatible replacement pack

This kit provides one Kastar BP-727 lithium-ion battery and an LTD2 USB dual charger for Canon LEGRIA HF M52, M56, M66, M68 and M76 camcorders. The battery delivers 3.7 V and 3200 mAh capacity rated at 11.84 Wh. The charger accepts Micro-USB or Type-C input at 5 V 2-3 A and can charge two batteries simultaneously.

Sustained charging behaviour

The charger outputs 4.2 V at 800 mA per slot whether one or two batteries are inserted, so charge current does not drop when both bays are occupied. An LCD panel shows real-time capacity percentage for each cell during the cycle. The 15 W input limit means a standard USB power adapter can maintain full dual-slot output without throttling.

Build and daily use

The charger features interchangeable plates so the same unit can support other Canon BP-series batteries such as the BP-708, BP-709, BP-718 and BP-727. Micro-USB and Type-C ports give flexibility to use power banks, laptop ports or wall adapters while travelling. A Micro-USB cable is included in the pack. Buyers needing to charge more than two cells at once or requiring a dedicated AC dock will need a different solution.

Questions about this item

Does the charger get hot or noisy when I leave it running all day?

The LTD2 USB charger draws 5 V at 2–3 A (15 W) and outputs 4.2 V at 800 mA per slot; it has no fan, so heat and noise stay minimal during extended use.

What power source do I need to run the charger?

Any USB supply that can deliver 5 V at 2–3 A — such as a standard USB-C PD adapter, a laptop port or a 15 W power bank — will power the Micro-USB or Type-C input.

Will the BP-727 battery work in my older LEGRIA HF M36 or HF M38 camcorder?

Yes, the 3.7 V 3200 mAh BP-727 is listed as compatible with LEGRIA HF M36, HF M38 and many other models that accept Canon BP-709, BP-718 or BP-727 batteries.
