Kit contents and purpose

The Kastar DMW-BCM13 kit supplies two 1800mAh lithium-ion batteries and a quadruple charger. It is designed for photographers using compatible Canon PowerShot and IXUS models who need spare power for extended shooting sessions.

Upgrade from single-slot charging

The included charger powers four batteries simultaneously, replacing the standard one- or two-bay units that ship with most cameras. The jump is worth it when a day’s work or travel demands more than two full cycles without access to a wall outlet.

Charging interface limits

The charger accepts 5V 2-3A input through Micro-USB or USB-C and delivers 4.2V at 800mA for one or two batteries, dropping to 500mA when three or four are loaded. It cannot operate from a USB port limited to 500mA total current.
