What this charger does and who needs it

The Kastar LP-E17 dual charger powers two Canon LP-E17 batteries at once. It accepts Micro-USB or USB-C input at 5V 2-3A and delivers 8.4V 800mA per bay. An LCD panel shows charge level for each cell. The unit suits photographers who carry spare packs for Rebel, EOS M or EOS R series bodies.

The spec that decides compatibility

This charger works only with Canon LP-E17 or 9967B02 cells and the cameras and grips listed in the compatibility table. It will not charge batteries that require a different voltage or form factor. Buyers who need to charge LP-E6, LP-E8 or any other Canon pack must choose a different model.

Behaviour under sustained load

When both bays are occupied the charger maintains 800mA to each battery without reducing current. The 15W input rating supports continuous dual-bay operation from a standard USB power source. The LCD updates in real time so you can monitor progress during extended charging sessions.
