Kit Contents

The Kastar LP-EL kit supplies one lithium-ion battery and a matching AC wall charger. It replaces the Canon LP-EL pack (4307C002) for use with Speedlite EL-1 and EL-5 flash units. Photographers needing a spare power source for compatible Canon flashes can use this set directly.

Power Input & Indicators

The charger accepts AC 100 to 240 volts at 50 to 60 hertz and delivers DC 8.4 volts at 600 milliamps. A red LED shows active charging while a green LED signals standby or full charge. The foldable flat plug reduces bulk during transport and storage.

Battery Performance

The included 7.2 volt cell provides 2600 milliampere-hours and 18.72 watt-hours of capacity. It supports E-TTL and E-TTL II flash metering on the listed Speedlite models. Users requiring higher capacity or compatibility with other flash systems will need a different solution.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Kastar LP-EL battery into my Canon Speedlite EL-1, and what is the step people often get wrong?

Slide the battery into the Speedlite EL-1 compartment until the latch clicks; the common error is stopping before the click, leaving the contacts unseated.

What maintenance will the Kastar LP-EL battery and its wall charger need over time?

The 2600mAh Li-Ion cell will gradually hold less charge after hundreds of cycles; the AC wall charger with foldable flat plug requires no service beyond keeping its vents clear.

What limit appears first when I run the Kastar LP-EL battery continuously in a Canon Speedlite EL-1?

The 18.72Wh capacity depletes after extended full-power flashes, so runtime ends before the charger’s 8.4V 600mA output becomes a factor.
