Charges Sony NP-BN1 batteries from any 100-240 V wall socket with a foldable plug and LED status light
The Kastar NP-BN1 is an AC wall charger built for Sony NP-BN1 type lithium-ion batteries used in many Cyber-shot compact cameras. It suits photographers who need a compact spare or replacement charger for travel or home use.
The unit accepts 100 to 240 V AC at 50 to 60 Hz and delivers 4.2 V at 600 mA to the battery. A red LED shows charging while a green LED signals standby or full charge; no fan or active cooling is fitted.
This charger replaces the original Sony BC-CSN and BC-CSNB models for the listed Cyber-shot cameras. The jump is worth it when the original charger is lost or damaged and a foldable flat plug makes packing easier. Buyers who need a car adapter or European plug included should look elsewhere.

Plug the foldable flat pins into a 100-240V AC outlet, then insert the Sony NP-BN1 Type N battery; the common mistake is forcing the battery in backwards, so align the contacts with the charger’s guide rails before pressing down.
No routine maintenance is required; keep the foldable pins clean and the ventilation slots clear of dust, and replace the unit only if the red-to-green LED sequence stops working or the output no longer reaches 4.2V 600mA.
The 600mA output current caps the charge rate, so a depleted NP-BN1 battery takes the full cycle time and the charger’s thermal protection may pause charging if the case temperature rises during back-to-back cycles.
