Kastar NP-FF70 Wall Charger for Sony Camcorders

This compact AC wall charger powers Sony NP-FF50, NP-FF51, NP-FF70 and NP-FF71 series lithium-ion batteries. It suits owners of compatible Handycam models such as the DCR-PC108E, DCR-PC350 and DCR-IP210 who need a replacement or spare mains charger.

Foldable Plug and LED Status Indicator

The foldable flat pins fold flat against the body for tidy storage in a kit bag. A built-in LED shows red while charging and switches to green when the battery reaches full charge or stands by, removing guesswork during overnight top-ups.

8.4 V 600 mA Output for NP-FF Series Cells

The charger delivers a fixed 8.4 V at 600 mA, matching the electrical requirements of the listed NP-FF packs. It will not charge larger NP-F or BP-U series batteries, so buyers with those packs need a different unit.

Questions about this item

Will the foldable flat plug on this NP-FF70 charger need replacement after repeated folding?

The foldable flat plug is built into the charger body and has no separate replacement part listed; the unit is sold as a single charger with no user-serviceable plug.

What limits continuous charging when the AC input is 100~240V 50~60Hz and the output is DC 8.4V 600mA?

The 600mA output current is the limiting factor; it sets the maximum charge rate for compatible NP-FF70, NP-FF71 or NP-FF71S batteries.

Does the charger generate noticeable heat or noise when left plugged in all day?

The charger uses a simple AC-to-DC design with LED indication (red while charging, green when full) and no fan, so heat and audible noise remain minimal during extended use.
