NP-FV50 Battery and Wall Charger Pack

The pack supplies a single 7.2 V lithium-ion cell rated at 1550 mAh together with a foldable-pin AC charger. It targets owners of compatible Sony Handycam and Action Cam models who need a direct replacement or a spare power source. The charger accepts 100–240 V input for worldwide use without a separate adapter.

Sustained Charging Behaviour

The charger delivers a steady 8.4 V at 600 mA, so a depleted cell reaches full capacity in a measured session rather than a rapid burst. An LED shows red while current flows and switches to green when the pack is topped up or on standby. This constant-current profile avoids the heat spikes that can shorten cell life during repeated cycles.

Build and Daily Use

The charger body measures three by two by two inches and uses a folding flat plug that lies flush against the wall outlet. No cable tether is required, making it simple to pack in a camera bag or leave plugged in at a desk. The battery itself follows the standard NP-FV form factor, so it clicks into the camera or a dual-slot dock without adapters.

Questions about this item

How much heat or noise does the 7.2V 1550mAh battery produce during all-day use?

The lithium-ion battery runs silently and generates only normal warmth during discharge; the charger draws AC 100–240 V and outputs DC 8.4 V at 600 mA with a foldable flat plug.

What must I already own for the charger to power the NP-FV50 battery?

A standard wall outlet supplying 100–240 V AC at 50–60 Hz is all that is required; the charger plugs directly in with its foldable flat pins.

Will this NP-FV50 pack work with my older Sony HDR-CX110 camcorder?

Yes, the battery replaces Sony NP-FV50, NP-FV70 and NP-FV100 cells and is listed as compatible with the HDR-CX110 among many other models.
