One NP-FW50 1650mAh cell and LTD2 dual USB charger

The kit supplies a 7.2 V lithium-ion battery rated at 1650 mAh and 11.8 Wh together with an LCD charger that accepts Micro-USB or Type-C input at 5 V 2–3 A. The charger can replenish two cells simultaneously at 8.4 V 800 mA each. Photographers using compatible Sony Alpha or Cyber-shot bodies gain a spare power source and a flexible way to top up cells away from a wall outlet.

Replaces a single OEM NP-FW50

Swapping to this combination makes sense when you need to charge two batteries at once or want USB-C input that the original dock lacks. The upgrade is worth it if you regularly shoot long sessions on models such as the ILCE-7M2, ILCE-6000, ILCE-6400 or RX10 IV and want to keep a second cell ready without carrying a bulky AC adapter.

Limited to NP-FW50 form factor and 5 V USB supply

The charger plates are specific to the NP-FW50 footprint so other Sony battery types will not fit. Input power is capped at 15 W from a 5 V 2–3 A source, so charging speed depends entirely on the USB port or power bank used. Buyers who need simultaneous charging for larger V-mount or NP-F series cells, or who require AC mains input directly, cannot use this unit.

Questions about this item

Will the LTD2 charger fit in a standard camera bag pocket?

The charger measures 5 by 3 by 2 inches so it fits in most medium accessory pockets.

Which USB port should I use first when charging two NP-FW50 batteries together?

Connect a 5V 2-3A power source to either the Micro-USB or Type-C input; the LCD then shows both slots charging at 800mA each.

How many full charge cycles can the 1650mAh NP-FW50 deliver before capacity drops?

Lithium-ion cells of this chemistry typically retain 80% capacity after 300 to 500 cycles; swap the pack when runtime falls below half.
