NP-FW50 battery kit for Sony cameras

This kit supplies a 1650 mAh lithium-ion battery and a matching AC wall charger for a wide range of Sony mirrorless and compact cameras. It covers models from the Alpha 6000 and 7 series through the RX10 line and NEX range, plus compatible grips. The battery delivers 11.8 Wh at 7.4 V for everyday shooting.

11.8 Wh capacity with LED charge status

The cell stores 11.8 Wh, enough for several hundred frames on typical mirrorless bodies before a recharge is needed. The wall charger accepts 100–240 V AC input and outputs 8.4 V at 600 mA, while a red LED shows charging and a green LED signals standby or full charge. Heavy video or continuous burst use will deplete the pack faster.

Foldable-plug charger for travel-ready power

The charger’s foldable flat plug keeps the unit compact in a bag and works worldwide on 100–240 V mains without a separate adapter cable. It charges the NP-FW50 directly, freeing the camera’s USB port for data transfer or external power while the spare cell tops up. No in-camera charging is required.

Questions about this item

Will the 7.4 V 1650 mAh battery power my older Sony NEX-6 the same way as the original NP-FW50?

Yes, the 7.4 V 1650 mAh lithium-ion cell matches the NP-FW50 specification and is listed as compatible with the NEX-6, so it will deliver identical voltage and capacity.

How do I know the AC wall charger is charging the battery correctly?

The charger shows a red LED while charging and switches to green when the battery reaches full charge or is on standby.

Does the kit include a camera body or only the 11.8 Wh battery and the foldable-plug charger?

The box contains one 11.8 Wh NP-FW50 battery and one AC wall charger with a foldable flat plug; no camera or additional cables are included.
