Dual USB-C rechargeable camera batteries

Kastar NP-FZ100PRO supplies two lithium-ion packs rated at 7.2 V and 16.4 Wh each. They replace Sony NP-FZ100 cells in Alpha and FX cinema bodies. A built-in USB-C port accepts a 5 V 2 A adapter so the batteries charge directly without a separate cradle. Red and green LEDs show charge status at a glance.

USB-C charging limited to 5 V 2 A input

The onboard circuit only negotiates standard USB power delivery at five volts and two amps. Higher-voltage USB-PD profiles or quick-charge protocols are not supported, so a laptop port or phone charger above that rating will fall back to the base current. Full recharge time therefore depends on the adapter used and cannot exceed the 2 A ceiling.

Replaces Sony NP-FZ100 and proprietary chargers

The pair removes the need for a BC-QZ1 or NPA-MQZ1K dock when a USB-C source is available. UL 1642 and CE certified cells add over-charge, over-discharge, over-voltage, over-current and over-heating protection. The upgrade makes sense for shooters who want cable-only top-ups on location; it does not suit workflows that rely on simultaneous multi-bay charging or camera-body charging.
