USB-C PD Trigger Board Kit

This kit provides two ZY12PDN trigger boards that negotiate power delivery with a USB-C source and output adjustable DC voltage through a 5.08 mm screw terminal. It is intended for engineers and hobbyists who need to power DC devices from a PD-capable charger or power bank.

Sustained 100W Power Delivery

The hardware protocol IC maintains a stable PD 2.0 or 3.0 handshake so the board can continuously deliver up to 100W at 20V and 5A without dropping the negotiated voltage. A large ceramic capacitor, TVS surge protection and a low-resistance copper construction keep temperatures controlled during extended operation.

PD-Only Voltage Negotiation

The trigger negotiates only PD 2.0 or 3.0 profiles from 3V to 20V and does not support QC or other proprietary fast-charge protocols. Users must ensure the connected load can withstand the selected voltage because the board provides no step-down regulation or current limiting beyond the source capability.

Questions about this item

Does the trigger board itself generate noticeable heat or draw extra power when running a 100 W load continuously?

The board is rated for up to 100 W at 20 V and 5 A; any heat produced depends on the connected cable and load, not on the trigger circuit alone.

What must I already have to make one of these boards deliver power to my device?

You need a USB-C Power Delivery 2.0 or 3.0 source capable of the desired voltage, plus a DC cable soldered to either the 5.08 mm screw terminals or the USB-A footprint on the board.

Will this trigger work with an older USB-A charger that only supports Quick Charge?

No — the board only negotiates PD 2.0 or 3.0 voltages; it does not support Quick Charge or other proprietary fast-charge protocols.
