Upgrades from a static stand or flat tray

A fixed riser cannot match the 21.5 inch arm extension, 16.3 inch maximum height or 360 degree rotation and swivel. The jump is worth it when you need to share the screen, switch between landscape and portrait, or clear desk space by pushing the laptop back. Tilt range runs from 90 degrees up to 45 degrees down.

Check desk thickness and mounting method

The C-clamp and grommet base both accept surfaces from 0.39 to 3.34 inches thick. Grommet installation requires a hole between 0.39 and 2.36 inches in diameter. Verify the desk edge or hole location gives enough clearance for the arm to reach its 5.3 inch minimum height and 11 inch vertical travel. Adjust the spring tension counter-clockwise for heavier laptops or clockwise for lighter ones.
