Adds Power-over-Ethernet to Raspberry Pi 4B or 3B+ with 12.5 W output and 802.3af compliance
The UCTRONICS U6109 PoE HAT supplies power to a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B or 3 Model B+ through a single Ethernet cable. It measures 65 by 44 by 13 millimetres, roughly half the footprint of the official HAT, leaving extra room inside the case for other hardware. The board complies with IEEE 802.3af and delivers up to 12.5 watts at 5 volts and 2.5 amperes.
Under continuous operation the HAT becomes warm, so a well-ventilated environment is required for stable performance. Adequate air circulation helps dissipate heat and prevents throttling during long-running workloads. The supplier notes that a case with a fan, such as the one referenced by ASIN, can be used with the Pi 4 to improve airflow.
A key revision allows the U6109 to work with 48-volt non-standard PoE switches, broadening the range of compatible network equipment. The board is not recommended for use with RJ45 cables that have aluminium foil shielding. Buyers who need PoE+ (802.3at) power budgets or isolated DC-DC conversion should look elsewhere.

The HAT runs hot during operation; the supplier recommends a well-ventilated environment and adequate air circulation for stable performance.
You need a network switch or injector that supports IEEE 802.3af PoE; the HAT draws up to 12.5W from the Ethernet cable.
The compact board is nearly half the size of the official PoE HAT and fits in most cases designed for the Pi; a fan-equipped case is suggested for the Pi 4.
