KEHIPI RT388 FRS Two-Way Radio Pair

The KEHIPI RT388 is a pair of licence-free FRS two-way radios operating on the 462-467 MHz band with 22 selectable channels. Each unit weighs 235 grams and measures 140.0 by 55.0 by 28.0 inches. Designed for children aged 6 to 12, the blue handsets include a belt clip, key-lock function and built-in LED flashlight for simple push-to-talk communication.

Suitable Uses and Limitations

These radios suit families wanting instant voice contact during camping, hiking or neighbourhood games without relying on mobile networks. The key lock prevents accidental channel changes by younger users. They are not water-resistant, so they should be kept dry in rain or near water. Buyers needing longer range than the stated 1 kilometre or a ruggedised, waterproof housing should consider other options.

Deciding Specification: 22-Channel FRS Operation

The single specification that determines compatibility is the 22-channel FRS layout on the 462-467 MHz band. Any additional RT388 units, or other radios set to the same channel and CTCSS/DCS codes, will intercommunicate directly. If your group already uses radios on a different frequency band or channel plan, these handsets will not link with them.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the RT388 radios are working after setup?

Turn both units on, set them to the same channel among the 22 available, match the CTCSS or DCS code, then press the push-to-talk button and speak; clear audio on the other handset confirms operation.

What comes in the box and what must I buy separately?

The package contains one pair of blue RT388 walkie-talkies with belt clips and a built-in LED flashlight on each; batteries are not included and must be purchased separately.

Which version or capacity of the RT388 should I choose?

Only the blue 1-pair version is offered, operating on the 462-467 MHz FRS band with 22 channels and a stated range of 1 kilometer.
