Kelty Galactic 30 550 Fill Down Bag

The Kelty Galactic 30 is a rectangular down sleeping bag rated to 30 degrees Fahrenheit. It uses 550 fill power RDS certified down for a lightweight warmth-to-weight ratio. The bag fits sleepers up to 78 inches tall and weighs 2.75 pounds. It is designed for adults camping or backpacking in cold conditions.

Check Compatibility Before Ordering

Verify that a 30 degree temperature rating matches your expected nighttime lows and personal cold tolerance. The rectangular cut measures 75 inches long by 33 inches wide, so confirm your sleeping pad and tent floor accommodate those dimensions. Two bags can zip together into a double bag, but this requires purchasing a second Galactic 30 with the opposite zipper orientation.

Thermals Noise And Power In Normal Use

The 21 ounces of 550 fill down provide insulation without electrical components, so there is no fan noise or power draw to consider. A cinch cord at the mid-section and two-way zipper allow manual ventilation control for temperature regulation. The polyester taffeta shell and liner use PFC free finishes. Stuffed size is 15 by 8 inches in the included stuff sack.

Questions about this item

What is included with the sleeping bag and what must I buy separately?

The bag ships with a stuff sack that has a drawstring closure. No liner, sleeping pad or pillow is listed as included.

How do I choose between the available versions of this bag?

This model is offered as the Galactic 30 with 550 fill power down, a 30 degree temperature rating and Rooibos Tea colour. No other fill powers, temperature ratings or colours appear for this part number.

What does the 30 degree rating mean when I am actually camping?

The 30 degree rating indicates the lower limit at which the 550 fill power down is designed to keep an average adult warm. The two way zipper and mid section cinch cord let you vent or seal in heat as conditions change.
