Privacy Screen for 16.0-Inch Widescreen Laptops

The Kensington EQ160A169A is a privacy screen filter built for 16.0-inch laptops with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It uses a plastic substrate rated at 2H hardness to resist scratches during daily use. The surface treatment cuts glare and repels fingerprints so the display stays readable in bright conditions. This accessory is intended for mobile professionals who need on-screen privacy in shared spaces.

Suits Open-Plan Workers.

The filter works well for office staff, commuters and anyone handling confidential data on a standard flat 16:9 panel. It does not support touchscreen input because the added layer blocks capacitive sensing. Buyers with curved screens, non-16:9 aspect ratios or display sizes other than 16.0 inches should look at something else. Installation relies on the laptop bezel geometry matching the filter outline.

16:9 Aspect Ratio on a 16.0-Inch Diagonal

The single specification that decides fit is the 16:9 aspect ratio combined with a 16.0-inch diagonal measurement. If the laptop screen matches both numbers the filter aligns correctly and covers the active area. A different aspect ratio or diagonal leaves gaps or overhang that defeat privacy and adhesive contact. Verify the exact screen dimensions before ordering.

Questions about this item

Does the 16.0" privacy filter add noticeable heat or draw power during all-day use?

The filter is a passive plastic layer with no electronics, so it generates no heat and consumes no power.

What must my 16" widescreen notebook already have for this 16:9 filter to fit correctly?

Your notebook needs a 16.0" 16:9 display with a flat bezel so the filter can sit flush against the screen.

Will the 2H scratch-resistant coating on this filter damage an older anti-glare screen if I keep using that laptop?

The 2H coating is designed to protect the filter itself and will not harm an existing anti-glare surface on the older display.
