Thunderbolt 4 Docking Station
This Kensington K35175NA dock adds eleven ports to a Thunderbolt 4 laptop through a single upstream connection. It delivers 90W power delivery to the host while driving dual 4K displays at 60Hz or a single 8K panel at 30Hz. Three downstream Thunderbolt 4 ports and an Ethernet jack complete the professional feature set.
Upgrade from USB-C Hubs
The 40Gbps Thunderbolt 4 link removes the bandwidth ceiling found on standard USB-C hubs, so dual high-refresh monitors and fast storage run without compromise. The jump is worth it when a single-cable setup must carry video, data and 90W charging simultaneously. Apple M1 machines are limited to one external display by the silicon, not the dock.
Sustained-Load Behaviour
Full 90W charging continues regardless of how many peripherals are attached, and the UHS-II SD 4.0 reader maintains its rated speed during large batch imports. The three USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports each supply 5V/0.9A while the front USB 2.0 port provides 5V/1.5A fast-charging without throttling the Thunderbolt backbone.

Questions about this item
How much clearance does the upstream Thunderbolt 4 cable need behind the dock?
Leave enough space for the upstream Thunderbolt 4 cable to bend naturally without sharp kinks; the dock sits flat on a desk and has no mounting brackets.
Which driver or firmware step is most often missed when setting up the K35175NA?
Install the latest Thunderbolt controller firmware from the laptop maker before connecting the dock; without it the three downstream Thunderbolt 4 ports may not enumerate.
When should the UHS-II SD 4.0 card reader slot be cleaned?
Clean the SD card reader slot with compressed air if cards start to stick or read errors appear; the slot has no user-serviceable parts.
