Designed for Microsoft Surface

This Thunderbolt-certified docking station is built exclusively for Surface Laptop Studio Pro 8 and other USB4 or Thunderbolt 4 Surface devices. It delivers professional connectivity and up to 90W of charging power through a single 0.8m Thunderbolt 4 cable. The silver finish matches the Surface aesthetic for a cohesive desktop setup.

Thermals noise and power draw

The dock supplies up to 90W of power to the host laptop while driving connected peripherals and video outputs. Thunderbolt 4 certification ensures stable 40Gbps data transfer without thermal throttling under normal workloads. No active cooling fans are mentioned in the specifications, so operation remains silent during typical office use.

Build integration and expandability

Three downstream Thunderbolt 4 ports allow direct connection of up to three Thunderbolt devices, with support for five total via daisy-chaining. A single USB 2.0 port provides legacy accessory support. Video output reaches single 8K at 30Hz or dual 4K at 60Hz on Thunderbolt 4 hosts. Intel VT-d DMA protection helps secure system memory against peripheral attacks.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the dock to my Surface Laptop Studio Pro 8, and what cable length should I expect?

Connect the included 0.8 m Thunderbolt 4 cable to the Thunderbolt 4 port on your Surface Laptop Studio Pro 8; the dock draws 90 W power through the same cable for a single-cable setup.

Will the Thunderbolt 4 cable or the 90 W power delivery need replacement over time?

The 0.8 m Thunderbolt 4 cable is a passive copper cable rated for 40 Gbps; replace it if the connectors loosen or the cable shows wear, otherwise no scheduled maintenance is required.

What video limit appears first when I run three external displays for hours?

The dock supports one 8K display at 30 Hz or two 4K displays at 60 Hz; a third display exceeds the Thunderbolt 4 video bandwidth, so the third output will not activate.
