What the stand is and who it serves

The Kensington K52785WW is a monitor stand built around the SmartFit System, a colour-coded riser method that lets office and home-office users set the screen height without specialist help. It accepts any monitor up to 21 inches and 40 lbs, making it suitable for standard business displays. The platform measures 11.5 inches wide by 9 inches deep and leaves open space underneath for papers or accessories.

Practical limits of the height adjustment

Only three discrete height settings are available, so the monitor can be positioned at one of three fixed levels rather than continuously fine-tuned. The maximum supported screen size is 21 inches and the weight limit is 40 lbs; heavier or larger displays will not be stable on the universal platform. The stand itself weighs 2.85 units and complies with TAA requirements.

Installation ease and common issues

Setup consists of snapping the coloured risers into the chosen height slots, a tool-free process that takes seconds. The main difficulty arises when a monitor exceeds the 21-inch or 40-lb limits, causing instability or preventing the risers from locking securely. Users also need to ensure the 11.5-inch-wide platform fits their desk depth, as no alternative footprint is offered.

Questions about this item

Which SmartFit height setting should I choose for my monitor?

Match your eye level to one of the three snap-in riser positions — low, medium or high — so the top of the screen sits at or slightly below eye height.

What does the 40 lb weight limit mean for a typical 21-inch display?

Most 21-inch monitors weigh well under 40 lbs, so the universal platform will support them with room to spare.

How does the 11.5-inch wide platform affect desk space?

The 11.5-inch width leaves enough room beneath the stand to store papers and accessories, keeping the desktop clear.
