Fits 15.6" 16:9 Laptop Screens

The Kensington K55784WW privacy filter is cut for 15.6-inch displays with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It serves mobile professionals who handle confidential data in open offices, on trains or in cafés. The accessory adds a layer of physical screen protection while narrowing the field of view.

Viewing Angle Limited to ±30°

The filter restricts visible content to a ±30° cone centred on the user, so onlookers at wider angles see only a darkened screen. This optical constraint works only when the display is viewed straight on; tilting the panel beyond the stated range restores visibility. Brightness and colour perception are reduced for the primary viewer as a direct result of the privacy layer.

Thin Profile Allows Laptop Closure

The filter is thin enough that the laptop lid closes fully without pressure on the panel. It attaches and removes easily, leaving no residue, and a microfibre cleaning cloth is included for routine maintenance. The black finish matches most chassis colours and the surface resists everyday scratches that would otherwise mark the underlying display.

Yes, it is built for a 15.6 inch laptop screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

How narrow is the viewing angle once the filter is fitted?

The filter limits visibility to roughly plus or minus 30 degrees from centre, so onlookers at wider angles see a darkened screen.
