Kensington K64068F Microsaver Keyed security lock

Kensington Microsaver keyed notebook lock

The Kensington K64068F Microsaver is a keyed security cable lock designed to protect notebooks and compatible devices from opportunistic theft. It secures to the standard security slot found on most laptops, providing a physical deterrent in shared or public spaces. The lock ships in a black finish and includes a set of matching keys for the cylinder.

Limits of the standard security slot

The lock only works when the device has a compatible Kensington security slot; ultra-thin laptops, tablets and some convertibles often omit this slot entirely. Cable length and thickness restrict the choice of anchor points to furniture legs or fixtures within close reach. A determined attacker with bolt cutters or lock-picking tools can defeat the cable or cylinder given enough time and privacy.

Keyed cylinder decides suitability

Choose this model only if you need multiple locks that share the same key code for managed deployments; the K64068F is sold as a single keyed-different unit, so each lock opens with its own unique key. Buyers who want a master-keyed suite, a combination dial or a serialized asset tag should select a different Kensington Microsaver variant.
