Kensington PortLock for USB-C Slots

The Kensington K64549WW PortLock is a combination security lock designed specifically for notebooks equipped with specialized USB-C lock slots. It provides a physical tethering solution for professionals who need to secure devices in shared workspaces, libraries, or hot-desk environments. The serialized preset combination removes the need for users to set their own code.

Four-wheel combination and serialized preset

Installation consists of inserting the lock head into the compatible USB-C security slot and locking the four-wheel dial. The preset combination is serialized for asset tracking, so administrators can record codes without user configuration. Issues arise only when the notebook lacks the specialized USB-C lock slot required by this specific lock head design.

Six-foot carbon steel cable length

The 6 ft carbon steel cable determines the maximum reach between the notebook and a fixed anchor point. This single dimension dictates whether the lock suits a given desk layout or shared bench. Buyers needing a longer tether or a different slot interface such as standard Kensington Nano or wedge slots cannot use this model.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the lock is correctly engaged on my notebook's USB-C lock slot?

Insert the lock head into the specialized USB-C lock slot until it clicks, then scramble the four combination wheels; the serialized preset code ensures only the correct sequence re-opens it.

What components are included and what must be sourced separately?

The package supplies the combination lock head with a six-foot carbon-steel cable; no anchor point or mounting hardware is included, so a desk grommet or security anchor must be purchased separately.

Which lock version should I choose for a notebook with a USB-C lock slot?

Select the K64549WW model — it is built specifically for specialized USB-C lock slots and uses a serialized four-wheel combination mechanism.
