Kensington combination lock for laptop security

The Kensington K64673US is a keyless combination lock designed to secure laptops equipped with a standard Kensington Security Slot. It targets professionals and students who need a portable theft deterrent for shared workspaces, libraries or open-plan offices without managing a physical key.

Carbon-strengthened cable and compact lockhead

A 6 ft carbon-strengthened cable measuring 3.0/4.4 mm in diameter anchors the device to any fixed desk, table or structure. The lockhead measures 18 mm wide by 50 mm long and features a push-button design that allows one-handed installation and removal during daily use.

Limited to devices with a Kensington Security Slot

The lock only fits the Kensington Security Slot found in approximately 99 % of computers, so it cannot protect hardware lacking that specific slot. Its four-wheel mechanism offers 10000 possible combinations, which resists casual tampering but is not rated against determined cutting tools or sophisticated lock-picking attempts.

Questions about this item

What cable length and diameter does the K64673US use, and how does that affect reach?

The cable is 6 ft long with a 3.0/4.4 mm carbon-strengthened diameter, giving a practical reach of about 1.8 metres from the anchor point to the laptop.

What are the lockhead dimensions, and will it fit a standard Kensington security slot?

The lockhead measures 18 mm wide by 50 mm long and is designed for the Kensington Security Slot found in 99 % of laptops.

How do I set a new combination on the 4-wheel lock, and what is the common mistake?

Open the lock with the current code, push the reset button fully in, turn the wheels to your new 4-digit code, then release the button; the frequent error is not holding the reset button down while changing the digits.
