Kensington ClickSafe lock for Dell laptops

The Kensington K67974WW is a keyed security lock designed specifically for Dell laptops and tablets that use a non-standard lock slot. It provides a physical tether point to help prevent opportunistic theft in offices, schools or shared workspaces. The silver finish matches common device colours. Buyers with standard Kensington T-bar slots cannot use this model.

Fits non-standard Dell slots without adapters

The lock head is shaped for the proprietary slot found on select Dell notebooks and tablets, so it engages directly without a separate adapter piece. A steel cable loops around a fixed anchor such as a desk leg or security bar. The keyed mechanism means every lock in a deployment can use the same key or unique keys depending on the pack purchased. Devices without this exact slot geometry are not compatible.

Replaces generic cable locks that need adapters

Users upgrading from universal cable locks with snap-on adapters gain a slimmer connection that cannot be pulled loose from the slot. The jump is worth it when managing fleets of Dell hardware where adapter loss or tampering has been an issue. Organisations that mix Dell and non-Dell devices will still need a different lock type for the other machines.

Questions about this item

What is the first limit you hit when the Kensington K67974WW lock stays engaged on a Dell device all day?

The lock uses a mechanical key cylinder, so the first limit is the physical durability of the key and tumbler mechanism under repeated locking cycles.

Does the Kensington K67974WW produce any noise, heat or draw power during continuous use?

No, it is a purely mechanical lock with no electronic components, so it generates no noise, no heat and consumes zero power.

Which specific Dell slot type must the laptop or tablet already have for this ClickSafe lock to engage?

It requires a Dell-specific non-standard security slot that matches the ClickSafe form factor; standard Kensington T-bar slots will not accept this lock.
