Kensington K68009WW N17 serialised combination security lock

Serialised combination lock for N17 slots

The Kensington K68009WW is a serialised combination lock designed for devices equipped with an N17 security slot. It secures laptops and compatible hardware in offices, schools or shared workspaces where physical theft deterrence is required. The lock uses a four-wheel combination mechanism and a carbon-steel cable that resists cutting attempts. It suits IT managers who need to track multiple units through the serialised numbering system.

Keyless setup with register-and-recover

Setting the combination takes seconds: align the dials to your chosen code, insert the lock head into the N17 slot and rotate the locking collar. No keys are involved, so there is nothing to lose or duplicate. The most common issue is forgetting the code; Kensington provides a register-and-recover service when the lock is registered online. If the combination is lost and the lock was not registered, the device cannot be unlocked without cutting the cable.

Steady deterrent under daily use

The carbon-steel cable and reinforced lock head maintain their integrity when left attached for long periods in high-traffic areas. The combination dials do not drift under vibration or temperature changes, so the code remains reliable after months of continuous deployment. The serialised barrel allows asset audits without removing the lock. The lock is not suited for outdoor exposure or environments where the cable could be attacked with powered tools for extended periods.
