Kensington N17 Dell Cable Lock Combination 6ft

Dell wedge-slot lock

The Kensington N17 cable lock fits Dell and Alienware laptops equipped with the newer Noble wedge security slot. It secures the device to a desk or fixed structure using a cut-resistant carbon steel cable. The lock engages with a push-button action that can be operated with one hand. This model is intended for users who need a physical tether for a compatible Dell notebook.

Upgrade from basic cable loops

The lock replaces ad-hoc cable loops or generic t-bar locks that do not mate with the wedge slot. Its unique engagement design creates a stronger connection between the lock head and the slot, resisting torque and pull attacks. The resettable four-wheel combination offers 10,000 possible codes, removing the need to track a physical key. The jump is worth it when a keyed lock is impractical or when the laptop only accepts the wedge profile.

Sustained security posture

The carbon steel cable resists cutting attempts over extended periods while anchored to furniture. Independent verification covers torque, pull, foreign implement attacks, lock lifecycle, corrosion and key strength under environmental stress. The mechanism is rated for a five-year warranty with lifetime technical support. The six-foot length allows flexible anchoring without tension on the laptop chassis.
