Professional Multi-Monitor Dock

The Kensington SD4790P is a USB-C and USB-A hybrid docking station built for professionals who need to drive up to four external 4K monitors from a single laptop connection. It targets Windows and Chrome OS users requiring quad-display productivity and MacBook users with M-series chips needing triple-display support via DisplayLink technology. The dock consolidates video, data, and up to 100W laptop charging into one device, simplifying desk setups in mixed-OS environments.

Upgrade From Basic Port Replicators

This dock replaces simpler USB-C hubs or single-video dongles that cannot deliver the bandwidth or multi-stream capability required for four 4K 60Hz displays. The jump is worth it when your workflow demands simultaneous high-resolution screen real estate across multiple operating systems without relying on native Thunderbolt or USB4 video pipelines. It also supersedes setups requiring separate power bricks and video adapters by integrating 100W Power Delivery and six video ports (three HDMI, three DisplayPort) in one unit.

Build Integration Requirements

The station connects via an included host cable with a screw-lock connector for a secure link to USB-C, USB4, or Thunderbolt 4 ports, and functions with legacy USB-A laptops using an optional power splitter (K38310WW) for charging. It provides six USB ports (two USB-C, four USB-A) running at up to 10Gbps, a Gigabit Ethernet jack, and a combo audio port, freeing up laptop I/O for peripherals and wired networking. The enclosure uses up to 50% post-consumer recycled plastic, reducing environmental impact without changing physical installation needs.
